342. Om ksetresyai namah: I bow down to Amma who is the wife of Shiva, the Lord of matter and the body of all beings.
I have always loved Amma's connection to Lord Shiva. There's something so complete and so universal in this union. And every time at the Shiva temple, when I see the holy triumvirate of Shiva, Amma and Ganesha, it gives me a feeling of everything being right with the world. It's like a wall of spirituality that filters the bad and only lets in the good. I guess that's why people go to temples and ashrams even though God is omnipresent. To feel the presence of this incredible wall. This palpable presence. This throbbing pulse of divinity. Religion in many ways, when looked at from the correct perspective, is a lot of what we allow to grow within us. The goodness, the virtues within. Amma and Lord Shiva are projections of these virtues. The universe projects Love towards all of humanity in the form of Amma. Lord Shiva is the lord of matter and the body of all beings. The God for whom time stands still as He seeks to destroy the vices of the world. Amma, for whom the world stops, as She reaches out and embraces all of humanity in Her warm, ever loving hug. What a beautiful, joyful union!
Om Amriteswariye namah!
