336. Om vindhyacala-nivasinyai namah: I bow down to Amma who resides in the Vindhya mountains
The one place I hope to make Amma reside in, is my heart. I know Amma lives in our hearts but for me that is more a spiritual saying than a fact! Is our heart actually clean enough to seat Amma? Just as we clean Amma's physical seat, so also we must cleanse our hearts. When we live in this materialistic world, I sometimes wonder if it is possible. There's so much to contend with - so many different types of people who arrive at our doorsteps to challenge and test us; so many situations that puts our character to the test - is it always possible to maintain the cleanest of the clean hearts? How can we totally accept everything that comes our way as Amma always advises us? The answer lies in the destruction of the ego. When we can learn to stop thinking of ourselves as powerful in the least, that is when the ego will die a quiet death. Even faith is a question of killing the ego. The day the ego leaves us, our faith will be complete. Till then we will always think that maybe God isn't really looking after us. Which means that we are wresting all the faith in ourselves. Which isn't a bad thing....but only so long as Amma truly lives in our hearts!
Om Amriteswariye namah!
