125. Om sarma dayinyai namah: I bow down to Amma who confers happiness
For those who chant the sahasranamam everyday, this echoes ones again in the 126th and the 953rd mantra: Om sarmadayai namah: I bow down to Amma who is the giver of happiness.
Can this even be something we need to think about? She is the centrifugal source of happiness. She is the very epicenter of the happiness of the world. She is the one who ensures that our minds are occupied in the finest spiritual space. That we are kept occupied by the welfare of others. And thus we stay happy. Happiness is a state of mind which comes about when we dedicate our lives to doing good for others. When we decide to place the happiness and well being of others on par with ours. When we keep aside our busy schedules and look into the lives of others. When we are able to forget the ego within and search for peace at the feet of Amma.
Isn't it Amma-zing how Amma is really a life force! And all one needs to do is meditate on Her form. It fills us with such bliss and such Amma-zing reassurance. It's almost like if we are to see Amma at every step of this journey, it'll be such a pleasant voyage. And if the voyage has been pleasant, how beautiful the destination should be! Our happiness can only come from Amma realization. That every ounce of happiness, every ray of sunshine in our lives, comes from Her. I pray to Amma that I reach a spiritual zenith where everything I feel is Her; every word I hear is Her, every fragrance I smell is Her, each utterance is a dedication to Her and every sight I see is because She has willed me to see it. Everything, just everything is because of Her. I want Her to fill my life with truth. With so much truth that I should have its complete fragrance in my life. Because there is much happiness in truth. And the only real truth, is Amma.
I always wondered why even Amma's pictures afforded me so much joy. It's the same as looking at a baby's picture. The innocence, that non-judgmental all accepting look is enough to melt any heart. That's Amma right there. Non judgmental. All accepting. Ever compassionate. All She does is engulf us with love and embrace us with happiness. How supremely blessed we are that what people seek in solitude and with years of sadhana, can actually be found at the feet of our dearest Mother. May we dwell in this happiness forever. And may this happiness grow as we learn to share it with each of our sisters and brothers.
