112. Om bhavanyai namah: I bow down to Amma who is the wife of Shiva
I love the union of Shiva and Amma. She is His shakti, His parvati, His powerful half. Just as in life, so also in marriage, every successful path needs the power of 2. Which is why Amma created the concept of parents: a father and a mother. The masculine and the feminine. And She gave each distinctive characteristics. Each of us has a masculine and feminine within us. It is the way the world is meant to be. Yin and Yang. A balance in itself means between 2 objects. Amma is the perfect Shakti to Shiva's powers. As he destroys, She creates. They live in perfect harmony, thus reflecting the perfect alignment of the universe.
When Amma hugs a family, She will always ensure that the man and woman are together. She will always hug them together. That is Amma ensuring that the couple stay equal. Shiva and Shakti. Just the way every couple should be. I totally love Amma for Her forward thinking. She ensures that a woman doesn't feel inferior to her man. Instead, Amma places them on the same footing. To me, Amma is woman power. She teaches us never to see ourselves as inferior. She helps us see ourselves as true representations of Shakti, the divine power.
When the world will align itself in a realm where there will be no gender bias, where a woman is given the respect due to her, where a woman can walk on an equal footing with a man, only then will the universe bow to our wishes. Because the truth of the universe is that the destroyer and creator are seen as equals. If one can take away or transform, the other can create. A balance at the very root of it all. And this is what is in actuality meant to be the order of the universe. I pray that Amma gives us all the grace to realise this greater truth. For in this truth lies our happiness.
