452. Om tejovatyai namah: I bow down to Amma who is effulgent
A very dear friend was listening to me when I was telling her about certain things that have happened to me and which I have felt have been totally unjust. I was wondering aloud what possible karmic debt I was fulfilling and why would something like this happen to me. She asked me if I ever questioned God like this when so many wonderful things happened in my life.
Obviously the answer was no. So today when something wonderful did happen, I questioned Amma. Why me, Amma? Why me?
The tone was of course one of pleasant surprise and acceptance. And the answer was very quick too. Because I deserved it. So did that mean that I deserved all the bad things that have happened to me? My answer changed very rapidly to: Amma knows what's best for me and therefore I must look at every event and happening with acceptance. Whatever the event, whether good or bad, I need to know that my dear darling Amma whose brilliance outshines even that of the sun, is always looking out for me. She cares enough to shield me throughout my life. She cares enough to set me on the right path. Only Her brilliance, her effulgence can light up our lives. Only this can bring os much wonderful positive light to our lives. Thank You Amma, for just being.
Om Amriteswariye namah!
