155. Om nir-isvarayai namah: I bow down to Amma who has no superior or protector
Amma has no superior or protector because She is the superior most being ever. She is the protector of the world. Of everyone who has taken refuge at Her feet. Amma is the only person in the world who can protect us and take care of us. How lucky we are. Earlier, when we did not know Amma, we put our faith in Gods and Goddesses we had never seen or heard. We trusted in folklore and on stories passed down generations. We went with a religion that had been modified with time's several touch ups. What was the truth? We didn't know. It was all hearsay. And a faith born out of fear. Be good or else....
And then Amma was born. Variously, in our lives. I learnt of Amma 2 decades ago. And then a sea change happened. Every moment of despair or happiness had a resting ground. Even today, when I am stressed or happy, I refer the emotion to Amma. She tells me how best to handle it. While for the most part I understand and live the fact that Amma truly has no superior and that She is the protector, every once in a while, shaken by a human weakness, I buckle. Faith is such an innocuous word but highly misunderstood. I hope that by doing regular sadhna and prayers, my faith becomes immovable. Wherein I begin to realise and see Amma not only as a protector but also as the ultimate policeman, the judge, the doctor, the spiritualist. In short, the perfect Guru. Which is what She is. I just don't have the eyes to see it yet.
Please continue weaving Your magic in my life. PLEASE! Please protect and bless me and my family every minute of every day. Because truly you are the tree that provides the divine shade. The shade our weary minds ache to sit in and bask in the glow of Your supreme beauty and divinity!
