647. Om lopamudrarcitayai namah: I bow down to Amma who is worshipped by Lopamudra, sage Agastya's wife.
Something beautiful and thought provoking from Amma:
Mother does not say that you should believe in Her or in a God who dwells up above in the sky. Have faith in yourself, in your own Self. You think that only that which can be seen and understood is you, that is, the body, mind and intellect; but you are something more than that. To know or to study yourself is not merely to have knowledge of your gross body and other things associated with it. That which gives you power, vigor, strength and the effulgence of life is something different. Modern science calls it energy and our Ancient Sages called it the Self, or God. You cannot deny “Shakti.” In reality, it is there that your real existence lies. That is the real “you.”
The Self or God. Which means we are a part of Amma and Amma definitely lives in our hearts! She is our energy, Shakti, power, vigour, strength and everything required to take that next breath. Amma is the only truth I wish to know and that which I wish to live by. Sometimes I do wonder how anyone can live by any other truth. She is the most important part of our lives. We live in a more spiritual manner only because we live by Her love. A few days back I met a person who asked me if I was Amma's devotee. And he asked me what Amma's religion was. "Love," I answered easily. And his ease at that made me realise how easily Amma has spread Her love all over the world and made it a movement, a religion in itself. Nothing else we need to practise in this religion but being kind to each other and to spread the love. Just seeing our self in everyone. And thus inculcating a more compassionate mind. Perfect!
Om Amriteswariye namah!
