The collective prayer!

725. Om daksina-murti-rupinyai namah: I bow down to Amma who is in the form of Dakshinamurti (Shiva, the original Guru)

I recently went to the Shivan temple and saw the priest doing an entire prayer to the idol of Dakshinamurti. They had decorated the idol with garlands made of 108 chick peas and just the peace on the face of the idol was enough to have me standing there and listening to all the prayers. I have passed the idol many times but that day was something very special. I walked away with some much needed peace. I felt Amma's presence and knew that She was there for me. Removing obstacles and helping me realise that the path would only get better. I guess there is a reason we go to temples. To feel the vibration of collective prayer and take away that lingering feeling of hope.  Amma has this to say about group prayer: “Group chanting and prayer is very powerful. It can change anything. The lost harmony of the human mind can be restored only through a selfless attitude supported by prayer, meditation and chanting of mantras.”

I still remember the idol that gave me so much peace and connected me with Amma. But then I feel Amma's presence at temples, churches, everywhere. Thank You Amma, for being in my life.

Om Amriteswariye namah!
