Amma: my revolutionary Guru!

722. Om guru-priyayai namah: I bow down to Amma who is beloved of the gurus

I was telling a friend about Amma today. She hadn't heard of Amma and so asked me to describe Her. I told Her Amma was a revolutionary Guru who had helped women feel comfortable about being women. That Amma was possibly the first female priest to consecrate a temple. That female devotees could easily pray to Amma even if they were menstruating. That Amma was a powerhouse of energy that balanced the male and female energy. I don't wish to know about patriarchy or matriarchy. All I know (and am happy to know!) is that Amma helps us find the inner shakti in each of us. Amma-archy. That's all I wish to follow.
"In reality, the key to woman’s liberty lies in her own hands. In order to realize this, women need determination, forbearance and constant effort. On our part, we need to provide them with a little encouragement and guidance. If provided with the right opportunities, any woman can become a role-model for society.”: AMMA
