Meditating on Amma's words!

592. Om candra-nibhayai namah: I bow down to Amma who is resplendent like the moon.

To a Mother who I look towards for my grounding, to a Mother I look towards for my meditation:

"People may interpret this thought of purifying the mind as a desire as well. But this desire for purification is to eliminate all other desires and thereby do selfless service to the world. The intention behind this desire is high and pure. Whereas, the intention behind almost all other desires is not so. While the desire to purify the mind destroys all other thoughts and desires, the desire to enjoy worldly pleasures redoubles the thoughts and desires, the end result of which will be sorrow and suffering."
"Ups and downs are the very nature of life. It is not the incident but how we confront it that is most important. Incidents by themselves cannot influence us. If we are mentally weak, their effect will be worse than if we are strong and well-controlled. The wise ones quickly overcome such situations. A wise man may also feel sad, but quickly realizes that it is all a play, that it is the nature of life. If you go on worrying, it will dissipate a lot of your energy and will make you inactive."

I needed that last one! Help us stay strong, Amma!

Om Amriteswariye namah!
