66. Om sampatkari samarudha sindhura vraja sevitayai namah: I bow down to Amma who is attended by a herd of elephants ably commanded by Sampatkari
Amma's walk has always reminded me of an elephants' measured and majestic gait. She walks into a room and it's the way She holds Herself. Radiating dignity. There's a regality to Her manner. Truly, the Queen of the universe and definitely of our hearts!
A day more to go before we celebrate Amma's birthday. Michael and Bindu are heading to Amritapuri, as are thousands and thousands of Her children. But I'm not going there. Tied down by circumstances and commitments, I will stay on in Singapore while thousands of others will enjoy and celebrate the day in Amma's loving company. How blessed are these children?! It isn't a decision they made to head to Amritapuri. It's Amma who's played Her magic on them and allowed them this opportunity. I haven't been chosen for this...but I'm there Amma! In spirit and in prayer. I'm there thinking deeply of You and of every thing You stand for, in my life! I exist because of You. My life has unfolded the way it has, only because of You. Every line of fate I have treaded, I owe to You. And thus my present and my future is also in Your hands. Am I a line in Your hand, Amma? You aren't just a line in mine; You're the entire path.
I know you will embrace thousands on Your birthday, Amma. Please do remember me, a child of Yours, who's thinking of You on Your birthday. My entire day goes into ploughing through my work. I wish I could be there, in the shadow of Your love. I wish I could be there reveling in Your presence; celebrating You. But I'm not there. Send me a hug, Amma. Send me a wish. Send me a sweet. An embrace. A promise. Anything that'll help me get by till I see you again.
