45. Om pada dvaya prabha jala parakrta saroruhayai namah: I bow down to Amma whose feet defeat lotus flowers in radiance
What a beautiful picture! There's something so gorgeous and intensely stunning about a lotus flower. That it is born in still water and yet throbs with a beauty that can only emanate from the elixir of life. It's leaves are broad and a dull green, almost as if they're there to protect the fragile leaves that are meant only for a higher purpose: to adorn Amma's feet.
Is it their karma to find themselves on Amma's feet? What have they done in their previous birth that allows them this privilege? Why can they nestle so calmly on Amma's radiant feet while the rest of us ache for one rare blessing to touch Her feet? And why is it that a lotus flower is divine enough to be in a mantra with Amma?
But look at those feet!! There's something so perfect about them. As gentle and divine as Amma Herself. There's an unhurried bliss to Amma's feet...the perfect place to lay your head down and allow the moment to take over. It is the only place where a parched soul will be able to water their destiny.
And to this feet, it is only appropriate to say that it's radiance outshines a lotus. For while a lotus may have the mystical beauty of nature, Amma's beauty has the radiance of compassion and love to it. Amma, please do grant us the blessing to touch this radiance, one day!
Om Amriteswariye namah!
