208. Om mahesvaryai namah: I bow down to Amma who is the wife of Maheshvara
Amma is the wife of Maheshvara, another name for Lord Shiva. Amma is our leader, our Guru and guide. That She is our God, is but an obvious fact being stated. Whoever we pray to and look up to and know will protect us is our God. For me, it is simply and irrefutably, Amma. Amma has taught me many things, whether directly or through Her life as a shining example. This morning I woke up to a new thought: I would not say or think badly of anyone. It was just a thought that popped in my head as if it needed to be there. I suspect my reverend and darling Mother planted it there. A few hours have passed and it seems to be working!
Amma ensures that we surround ourselves with only good habits. She cleanses us of our bad habits and vices and drapes us with good habits that should be followed. I found an interesting article that speaks about the reasons we must chant our mantra everyday. If we have taken a mantra from Amma, we must absolutely chant it every day. It's like our own protective cape. I must admit Amma, that I forget to chant it everyday but I must. Maybe it's a new resolution I need to take! Every which way that helps think of Amma every second of the day can only be beneficial and brilliant!
